Working out some ideas for JWI E6
I spent some time with Lannie (1/3rd of OEP) and he's working on a couple of sketch ideas for the next episode of "Just Watch It." It was fun to work on some upcoming video projects again and I'm looking forward to getting some filming done for the next show!

Making headway on the WWII novel
I just finished the edit for chapter 30 on the WWII novel. Only ten more to go, but then I'll need to do some more editing, and look for some readers.

Commercial shoot
I came up with an idea for an automobile commercial for a commercial demo reel that I'm working on. I needed a vacation type area with a lot of photo ops, so I took a trip to the Denver Zoo with the family and did a little filming. Luckily, I didn't need much with the kids since it's difficult to work with children, especially when they're trying to have fun at the zoo! But I got the main shots in, and now I need to clean up my car for some pictures, and do a little photoshopping.

Doc Video Shoot
Charlie (1/3rd of OEP) has been working hard on his political science career, and was working on a video for an upcoming town hall meeting. He needed someone to shoot some video for him while he conducted an interview. It had been a while since I did more documentary type filming, it was a lot of fun, and I think I got some good images.

More work on Time Travel Short Story
My time travel story has now been converted into manuscript format. It's a basic format that most publishers use. Some will have different variations depending on the publisher, but most will use it. The next step will be to search for which magazine I want to submit this to first.

Halfway done on the WWII novel
My WWII novel is now halfway completed, at least for this draft. It's interesting the mistakes I've missed on the first time around, but this is why you always need to edit your work. You'll never have a perfect first draft, and you want your writing to stand out enough, so it will take re-writing. Only twenty more chapters to go!

Time Travel Short Story draft done
I finished the latest draft of my time travel story. It's a much stronger piece now I think thanks to my wife's input. I'll put it away for about a week then read through it one more time to make sure the changes make sense.

Mystery Video Project test completed
The mystery video project that I've been working on has a test edit. I think it turned out really well, but there are a couple of tweaks I want to change first. More exciting details to come!

Time Travel Short Story Re-Write
My wife had finished her notes on my time travel short story. (She writes a lot of short fiction and recently finished her first novel. Read all about it on her blog Science Fiction Mommy under our "Friends" section.) She is a great editor and gave a lot of useful feedback. So I started today working on the next draft.

Filming for the Mystery Video Project
We've worked with R.J. on many past video shorts and he graciously let us use his two cars for the MVP. (He did most of the driving.) The shots turned out really well and pretty much how I imagined them. I can't wait to get them edited in, since this is the biggest scene. There are only a couple of other smaller scenes that need to be filmed and a little voice over work for the shooting to be done. Then there will be some editing polish that will need to be applied.
Oh yes, Happy Mother's Day, and I have an incredibly understanding wife!

Alternate Creative Projects
I've been working on numerous varied creative projects. One of which is a website for 5280 resumes. I thought the design turned out really well and it's totally different than what it was before. I also decided to set up a portfolio page on this site for a showcase of different projects besides the filmmaking ones.

Demo Reel Is Live!
I decided it was high time to have a short demo reel showcasing all of the video work I've accomplished throughout my career. It gives a nice overview of the comedy, action, and drama, I've created over the years. Take a look here!

A new idea
So I came up with two idea's based off of Mr. G.'s idea of a crazy family. One I thought had been overdone and wasn't excited about it at all. The other one I thought could have really good potential. I threw it out to my wife and even she (who is not a horror movie fan) thought it was interesting. I'll have to figure out a little more details, write it up, and send it Mr. G.'s way and see what he thinks of that one.

Spoke with Mr. G.
I had a phone conversation with my contact, Mr. G. to go over the screenplay pitches. He thought my sci-fi horror movie was too out there and not something he thought wouldn't work. It's a great unique story, with characters you'd actually root for, so I know it would find a market somewhere. Even if I have to film it myself (which I've always thought about doing, but that's another story).
We went over my pitch for the Broken Down Bus horror movie, and he thought the script was being too clever, and he thought the movie Scream had a known director so they were able to get away with a similar idea. That wouldn't happen with this one and he didn't think there would be a market for it at this time. I've put a little work into the outline on this so I'll try and finish the outline and keep it handy so when the time is right it will be ready to go.
He came up with a couple of idea's based on the Bus idea, but that means it would be a completely different story, and nothing would be used from the previous idea. I'm not sure what to do with his suggestions, so I'll have to mull it over a bit. It's time to start from scratch.

WWII Novel update
I'm finished . . . with the initial read through of my WWII novel. I made notes of grammatical errors, parts that I thought didn't make sense, and areas where I contradicted myself. Reading it all together gave me a much better sense of how it flowed and what details I changed from the beginning to end. I got through two chapters a day and now it's time to make the changes and see what else doesn't seem right. I'm not sure how long that will take, but I've given myself until the end of September to have it done. I'll ask for readers at that point and make any modifications based off of their feedback. Then it will be time to write a new screenplay.

Post-Apocalyptic Zombie Movie
The initial edits have been completed, but there are a handful of areas I need to revisit to delete and expand on. So this screenplay is getting close to being done.

Zombies and more
I'm halfway through the Post-Apocalypse Zombie movie re-write. I'm beginning to wonder if I have too many characters and scenes and need to cut some out. I guess I'll wait until I'm done with this draft, give it some time, then revisit it again and see what I think.
The script is done for my mystery video project! Now it's time to get a shot and location list written down so I can begin the process of shooting it. I also have a couple of props that need to be worked on.

No Joke, the Novel, draft two has started
Happy April fools day! The second draft of my WWII novel has begun (no, really). I've started by reading through the whole thing and making comments about what changes I see needs to be done. Once that's completed I'll actually go through and make the changes and determine what else needs to be added/deleted. It's hard to believe that it's been almost two months since I've completed it.

Next draft for my Post-Apocalyptic Zombie screenplay
This is the second screenplay that I wrote last year before working on the novel. This one has some issues that will take longer to solve. It's too long, so I'll need to edit it down, and there were issues with screen time with some of the characters. Since it's the next draft, it will take a little longer, because there's more to it than a format polish.
The end of the month is rapidly approaching and I was planning on starting the next draft of my WWII novel in April. With that, and all the other projects I'm working on right now, the next draft of my zombie movie will probably take a while.

A New Look!
It's been a long time coming since the blog hasn't been updated since we started it way back in 2005. (Has it really been that long?) The opening of our sketch comedy show, "Just Watch It," opened and closed with our logo floating in a nebula region of space, and the new opening logo for our shorts will have more of a outer space vibe to it, so we thought the planet design was appropriate. We hope you like it and there are more changes to come!

More projects completed
The final draft (ha, ha) has been completed for the Hunt. Because it had been a while since I read it, there were actually a couple of parts where I wasn't sure what was going to happen next. It's an action/comedy and I was surprised at a lot of the comedy bits.
The commercial is done and I think it turned out well considering I wasn't able to shoot for it, I only had access from vacation footage. I would love to travel to some far off exotic location to shoot something new for it, but that's not in the cards right now. There are about three other commercial ideas I have, so I've started playing around with some brainstorming for those.
And, (drum roll please) I've started on a new video project. I'm keeping a tight lid on this one until it's ready, but it's really short, and poses a new challenge, since I haven't done anything like this before. Details will be posted when it's ready.

Commercial Idea
In my quest for creative employment, I decided to make up some mock TV commercials for a portfolio. The first one I decided on was for a travel group. I grabbed some footage from an old vacation I took and wrote up some copy for it. I also made a logo for it in Photoshop.

Next draft for the Hunt
This should be the last of the older projects that I'm wanting to go back to and revise, so the format looks better. The title has already been used, so I'm working on a different title as well. This one is strange to read, since it's the first one I completed when I decided to focus most of my time on screenwriting. So I haven't seen it for a while now.

Next draft for short story
I started on the next draft for my new short story. I'll put a little more time into it over the next couple of days so I can finish it and move on to another of my many projects. Once I'm finished, I'll have to give it another full
read through, then ask a couple of people to read it, and give me their
thoughts for the next draft. So it will probably be a while before I mention this one again.

Outline ready to go for Broken Down Bus
It's the end of the month and it's been a full year so far. I completed the research and characters for my broken down bus horror movie and started working on the outline for it. I typically write an outline for each of my screenplays, I like to know where my story is going, and it keeps me from getting writer's block. Any writer's block comes from doing the outline, so I don't have to stop and think much one I've started writing.

Animated Jungle Draft Done

Re-write
I decided to go back to a few scripts for another draft/re-write. I need to incorporate the information I learned when I read the Screenwriter's Bible that I mentioned last year. The one I'm working on now is the Animated Jungle movie that I started at the beginning of last year.

New Short Story is Finished
The first draft of my short story is done! It was a lot of fun to complete this since I've had the idea for so long. It was also interesting doing research for the CERN lab since that's where the story takes place. Stats for this one is 11 pages and 6,334 words. I'm going to shelve it for a couple of weeks and then do another draft with my fresh eyes.

New Short Story
I decided to write up a short story for an idea I came up with back in October of I think 2011. Since I'm already in story writing mode, it will be nice to work on something that will be much shorter. I had a few questions for my wife, since she has written and submitted a lot more short stories than I have, and went to work writing it.

The WWII Novel is DONE!
Or at least the first draft is. Wow, it's a weird moment to know that I finished my first novel. A lot of time, research, and sacrifice went into this. It was such a huge project to write a book that took place in WWII, that I didn't get much of anything else done. Most of my available free time went into writing this. Even on most weekends I didn't have time to watch a movie or even relax with a video game. It's a great feeling of accomplishment, but also bittersweet knowing the majority of the writing is over.
The stats for it are as follows: 185 pages, 107,066 words, 39 chapters + an epilogue.
Now it's time to shelve it for a few weeks (probably until April), so I can approach it again with fresher eyes for the next draft. I'm in a peculiar position now since I'm not sure what new writing project to start on. Usually I would have the next project researched and ready to go, but since the novel took so much time, the horror movie about the broken down bus isn't ready yet.

Animated Halloween movie update
The idea's have been fleshed out and the the next draft is finished. I believe it's a much stronger piece and I even came up with a possible sequel idea. The characters have better motivation and are fleshed out even more. The story is stronger and more work has been done on the villain. My wife will do another read through (since most of the revisions were done by me) and after her changes, we'll read through it together again to make sure the story still flows. This one has the biggest potential I think, but it's also the least likely to get made, since it is an animated movie, and there are only a handful of movie studios that could make it. But I really believe in this one and know it would make an entertaining movie.

Another e-mail to Mr. G.
My other horror screenplay with traps has been rewritten and I think it's better because of it. Each draft changes a little and hopefully improves the screenplay. I sent it to Mr. G. so he could read it and see if he had any more suggestions.

Screenplays to Mr. G.
I sent an e-mail to Mr. G. with the finished screenplay of C&C, and the note for him to just take a look at it since it's complete, and maybe the solid writing, and great characters would make the sci fi element a little less jarring. I also finished the story pitch for the reworked horror idea based off of the same concept of C&C and sent that to him as well.
My other horror movie deals with traps, and Lannie recommended checking out the old Dungeons and Dragons module, "Tomb of Horror." He remembered it had a lot of traps and might inspire some ideas. I found a copy on the Dungeons and Dragons website (the web is amazing and wonderful) and read through it. The Tomb of Horrors is exactly that, the module is basically just one big dungeon filled with traps meant to kill the characters. Some, you can be smart about, and get through, but there are a lot that would require dumb luck to survive. I'm glad I was never subjected to the atrocities of that dungeon. It would have been frustrating and my character would probably be dead.
But it was an interesting read and it did spark a couple of ideas I could rework in my screenplay.

Lannie's comments
I received Lannie's thoughts on the horror movie C&C, and he didn't have any issues with the sci fi element. He thought it made the movie unique and different. He also had a few suggestions so I have begun the process of rewriting that one again. How many projects am I juggling now? Too many, but that's the business. If I didn't love writing so much, my feeling of being overwhelmed would turn into outright dread and horror. But it's my passion so it seems a little less like work, a little.

Halloween Animation
Based off of Mr. G.'s feedback, my wife and I have been looking at his comments and started to figure out which ones we want to use. We broke it down into four main areas that we're going to concentrate on, and begun to organize the idea's he had for our animated screenplay, and the ones we came up with.

New movie idea
After my pitch meeting I started writing down idea's on the reworked concept idea from Mr. G. about a broken down bus. I've been researching horror movie cliches, so I can decide which ones I want to incorporate. I also sent a copy of my horror movie C&C to Lannie (1/3rd of One-Eyed Pictures) to get his take on it and if he had any issues with the sci fi element.

Pitch Meeting with Mr. G.
I had a productive meeting with my Hollywood contact that I've been calling Mr. G. This is the guy
that taught the screenwriting seminar way back in September of 2009. It was the one that inspired me to focus more
on screenwriting, which brought my total up from two to twelve. I pitched my three ideas again, he gave his
thoughts on them, and some feedback for improvement. He had trouble
visualizing the sci fi element to one of the horror ideas. So
he gave a suggestion on a similar concept but a different story all together. Overall, there is a lot to think about, and it's time for more of the never ending process of revision. He also said it was Sundance Festival time and then the Oscars, so there wouldn't be much work done until those are over.

A New Year
So it's time to welcome 2013 with open arms and open possibilities. It will be another year filled with writing and hopefully some video work. I'm still on track to finish my first novel around the end of the month, or the beginning of February. I'm working out what my writing schedule will be for this year. There are always a ton of projects that I'd like to get to, but there are only so many hours in the day. I'm still hoping cloning will be perfected this year so I can hand out different projects to my clones.
The main course of action will be to finish the novel, then edit it after some time away. I will hopefully have time to write two more screenplays, I would like to finish a comedy short film idea I've had for a while now, and write up a few more comedy sketches. Whew, it looks like it will be another time consuming and writing filled year.
Happy New Year from all of us at One-Eyed Pictures!

SNOW!
We got a little snowstorm, so Mr. G. postponed our meeting since he wasn't going into the office today. That is the life I'm looking for, where I can choose not to go in because of bad weather! The meeting was rescheduled for January 2nd.

Called Mr. G.
So I called Mr. G. and he said he was still busy on his film, there were sound issues he was still correcting. But he would be done at the end of the year so we set up a meeting for December 19th. I'm looking forward to it since I've been working on polishing up the three scripts he was interested in.

WWII - 100!
So I reached the milestone page of 100 on my WWII novel, which means I'm over half way done. This is by far the longest piece of writing that I've ever done. It's difficult to judge just how long this will actually be since a page in "Word" is different than a "book" page. But I'm estimating it should be a little over 300 "book" pages.
We finished the draft of our Animated Halloween screenplay. It really is amazing how many drafts you can go through.

Happy early Halloween
I'd like to say that we're done with the screenplay, but we're not, it won't be done in time for Halloween.
I'm still plugging along on the novel and it's been really interesting filling in a lot of the gaps in the screenplay. I have more time and space to flesh out the characters and give them some nice moments.
I sent a copy of Red Riding Hood and my Vampire screenplay to the critic I mentioned back in June. I got a hold of her finally and she wanted a hard copy of them. It will be interesting what a former critic has to say about them. Hopefully she will like them and give some insight on how to improve them since that's the ultimate goal: make each screenplay as good as possible.

Novel and Animated Halloween screenplay
The novel is moving along nicely now, but I'm not going to have it finished by the end of the year. I'm pretty sure I'll have it done by the end of January or the beginning of February. It's a realistic goal, now that I know how much I'm getting done each day, so I shouldn't have to push it back any more.
We got our feedback to our Animated Halloween screenplay and starting working on the next revision. Since I'm writing this one with my wife, it takes a little of the pressure off with writing the novel too. Did I mention that she's working on her second draft of her first novel? Well she is, so we're just a couple of very busy writers.

A quick note
Just a quick update, the novel is still progressing, and I finished the draft of my Sci-Fi Horror movie. I need more time for the novel so I won't be working on anything else for a while. In fact, it's been taking up so much of my free time, there isn't much time for anything else. My friends probably wonder if I'm still alive or not. I need to get back to writing.

Serious multitasking
The WWII novel is coming along now. It has gotten a little bit easier, but I'm only managing a page a day. That has become the goal now, every day I need to get a page done. I'm hoping that I'll have this finished by the end of the year.
I finished the latest draft of my Family Archaeology screenplay. It was a little long so I had to make some tough decisions about what to cut out. One was particularly heartbreaking since it had a key character moment. It was hard to replace it with something shorter, but the scene will survive in the sequel.
We gave our Animated Halloween script to a couple of readers so we can get some good feedback on what works and what doesn't. I always tend to fill in the blanks in my head and not on paper, so it's always nice to have someone look at it, and point out what they don't understand.
I did another quick draft of my Horror Trap screenplay to clean up some of the formatting and started on another draft of my Sci-Fi Horror movie.

Met with Mr. G.
I had trouble getting a hold of my Hollywood screenwriting contact, who I call Mr. G., so I decided to just go to where his office is to talk to him. Luckily, he was there and had some time to talk. We spoke about a low budget horror film that he was directing and was getting close to finishing it. I pitched the screenplays that I have been working on over the last three years. He said there were three that stood out to him, and possibly a couple more that could work, but needed a better log line and pitch. Since he was busy finishing his movie, he didn't have any more time and said to contact him again towards the end of the year.

Screenwriter's Bible
I finished reading the Screenwriter's Bible, by David Trottier. It's a complete guide to writing, formatting, and selling a script. I received the book as a gift quite a while ago, but finally made the time to read it. There were a lot of things that I already knew and help with getting started which I didn't need. But there were some excellent formatting tips that I didn't know about. So it's time to go through each screenplay for yet another revision, this time focusing more on the format of it. It's an unbelievable amount of work (especially since I've written so many screenplays now that I have to go back to) but this should make each screenplay look like it's supposed to and give it a better shot of being read.

A week of novel writing
It's been a week now and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. My wife and Lannie believes it will get easier and some days I'll have multiple pages written and others not so much. I hope so because I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever finish this beast.

WWII Novel Begins!
That's right, I've finally begun my first novel. It's an adaptation of a screenplay I wrote that takes place in WWII. It is completely different from screenwriting. When I'm writing a script, there are a lot of details I don't have to worry about. The script is just the blueprint and there are many other craftsmen working on it. So the details will be figured out by the costume department, the production designer, etc. But in the novel, I have to figure all of that out. Now there are a lot of details that I'm sure most people will just gloss over, but I would like to make this as accurate as possible. For instance, I spent some time trying to figure out a type of tree that would be found in England. I didn't want to have one that couldn't grow there.
I thought this would be pretty easy since I already have the screenplay to go off of, but with the different style of writing, and the more in-depth research, I don't think I'm going to complete this in three months like I had planned. I wrote only a half a page today and it was a struggle. What am I getting myself into?
So I'm writing the novel in the afternoon and working on another re-write of my Family Archaeology screenplay at night. This presents a unique challenge going from novel to screenplay. I'll be glad when this is over.

More writing completed
I finished the next draft of my Vampire movie and did a "final" (cough, cough) read through. There's some great scenes and it has a fantastic ending. In fact, the main idea started with the ending in mind.
I also completed my Post-Apocalyptic Zombie screenplay. This one will need a little more work when I go for the next draft. It's too long and some of the characters were forgotten about. Now I'm gearing up for August when I start the novel.

Meeting
A friend of my wife's, mother, used to be a film critic. I met her at a birthday party and she expressed an interest in reading my scripts. She's into vampires so it was time to go back to my Vampire Screenplay and do another revision from all that I've learned recently.
I've also decided that my next project is going to be my first novel. I will be adapting my WWII screenplay since I believe it has the best "hook" of all my screenplays. There are huge differences between a script and a book so I went to the library to check out some books. The main issue is the multiple characters a screenplay has, and there are about four or five that I want to focus on. So I talked to the librarian and she made some suggestions of books that have multiple characters in them. I'm looking forward to being forced to make the time to read again.

More re-writing
It's not just writing, it's re-writing. Oh how true that is. I finished the latest draft of my Animated Jungle screenplay, completed another draft of my WWII movie, and started working again on my Red Riding Hood movie. I had my wife look at it (see her blog link under the Friends of One-Eyed Pictures) and she had made a really good critique of it.

Post-Apocalyptic Zombie screenplay
The outline is finished and I've started work on the screenplay. There was some fun research that took place in Washington D.C. It's been a long time since I've been there and I found out about other museums there that I want to visit now. I'm planning on starting the next draft of my Animated Jungle screenplay tomorrow.

Red Riding Hood done, again
Yes, the latest draft is finished and it's a much stronger piece now. I also believe it's a great showcase of my work. It has the best balance of character development and action scenes. There are a lot of good, personal, themes throughout, and some excellent character arc's. I'm about halfway through my Post-Apocalyptic Zombie screenplay.
Just a status update
This will be a quick one. There is turmoil at my work and I'll leave it at that. The to be verbs have been removed from the Horror Trap screenplay, and I completed two drafts of my Animated Jungle screenplay.

Love is in the air and so is writing
Yes, it's Valentine's Day and it would be a good day to start on a RomCom screenplay, except that I'm already entrenched in two others. I have learned the power of action verbs and have started a re-write of a horror trap movie. I'm taking out all the to be verbs such as is walking and changing it to walks. It's funny how many times I've gone back and forth. It's a great piece of information I have and it has made my writing even stronger which is the reason for re-writing.

Animated Jungle Screenplay started
With the outline completed it's time to start writing! So the first of the screenplays has been started and the research for the next one has begun. It will be a Post-Apocalyptic Zombie movie. It should be fun.

Two more drafts done
I finished another draft of my Family Archaeology screenplay and the one that takes place during WWII. I'm still working on the outline for my Animated Jungle screenplay.

Happy New Year!
Yes, another new year is upon us and another new year for writing. As usual, there are several projects going on, one of which is the completion of another draft of our animated Halloween screenplay. We hope the new year is prosperous for all of you and keep your creative juices flowing.
We're hoping this year we'll have some time for some more video work. There are a couple of short film ideas and some new sketch comedy that's been on the back-burner for too long.

New JWI Opening
Our sketch comedy show, "Just Watch It," is being retooled and redesigned. With the new camera, I wanted all of the footage to match so we shot some new sequences for the opening. It had been a while since we have gotten together to film something so it was very fun.

Peanut Sex
Our new sketch, "Peanut Sex," is online and ready for viewing here. When Linus can't find his blanket, Lucy warns him that Mom is the last person he wants to ask where it is.

JWI meeting
Lannie came over and we played around with some ideas for the new opening for Just Watch It. The whole show will be changed a bit. The opening will be shorter, the episode will now be more like 20 minutes (like a regular TV show) instead of 30, and we won't have the credits breaking them up. I also want to have shorter sketches, and not have any that goes to 5 minutes like several have in the past. I want to keep them closer to 2. It should be a more fluid experience.

JWI Episode 5 sign off
Lannie, one of our producers, was able to come over and watch Just Watch It episode 5 and said it looks good. So it is now finished. Now that I can create a more polished DVD, I'll have to redo the first 5 episodes. Not sure when I'll have time though, I have a documentary that needs to be edited.

Cleavers and Cleavage Done
I received some more comments from Charlie and finished another draft. I think this one is done now. Time to do some research on copyrighting and submitting it.

I've started the research for my next movie. I'm aiming for an Indiana Jones/Johnny Quest vibe.

Cleavers and Cleavage
I finished another draft of the feature Cleavers and Cleavage, based off of a short that was written over 10 years ago. I think it's about done now.

Lost
Nothing really movie related to our projects but finished watching the final episode of Lost. Very interesting and sad to see the show end. It was one of the best in my opinion.

WWII script
I finished the first draft of my WWII movie. I spent a lot of extra time on this one to get it finished on time but I think it was well worth it. It should be just over two and a half hours long and has some very cool scenes in it.

JWI Episode 5
I just finished the edit for Just Watch It episode 5. I was trying to use up a lot of previous sketches that we shot and just needed a little work. With the new camera I have, I wanted the shorts to all have the same look to them. So we'll be changing the look and feel of episode 6. More to come!

WWII outline
Just finished the outline for my WWII movie. There was a ton of research to do on this one which is why I started writing it before I was done with my outline.

Pyramid of the Dark
Since I've been concentrating a lot more on writing features, I thought I would blog about it here too. I finished the re-write of my horror feature, "Pyramid of the Dark."

Argoth again
Started working on more of the special features of the Argoth DVD. Still have a couple of more things to go and one will take a bit of time. Time is moving too quickly.

Peanut Sketch
A rough edit is done on the new sketch. Still waiting for my computer to be fixed to work on the music for it. I'll need music to finish everything up and then to judge how long everything will be and what will need to be tweaked to fill the 30 minute running time. So JWI episode 5 is on hold for now.

Peanut Sex
We filmed a new sketch last night called, "Peanut Sex." Linus is looking for his blanket in all the wrong places.
We should have enough sketches now to complete Just Watch It episode 5! There are a couple of smaller things that need some work (some greenscreen work on a newscast preview) but we should have all the footage we need and it just comes down to editing.
That should all be done by the end of the year and then it's time for the DVD creation.

Crocstalker done
Editing on Crocstalker is completed except for the music which is on my PC that is having work done on it. But I know what music I want so that won't take long once the PC is up and running smoothly again.

More Argoth and Crocstalker
Finished the three different versions that will be on the Argoth DVD and started working on the DVD itself. Just need two more things to finish it.
Also started editing the Crocstalker sketch.

Another Sketch Down
Just finished shooting a new sketch called "Crocstalker." It's a nature show looking for Crocs. I got this one going pretty quickly since some stock footage that I was going to use is on the old camera and wanted to get this done before the switch to the new camera. I also wanted to take advantage of the weather before it starts getting too cold.

Update
Finished an extra feature that will be on the Argoth DVD. I finished my latest screenplay and started working on a new screenplay about vampires.
Storytime on Youtube
We have posted our award winning sketch, "Storytime," up on YouTube. You can view it here.
I did a test with the new imac on downloading it and it worked great. Should be a lot easier to post our videos and will start posting with more regularity.

Sketch Edit
I have finished editing a new sketch called, "How We Make Stuff." This will appear on episode 5 of Just Watch It. Working on the new imac is making everything easier. More hard drive space, real time rendering, more memory. Very nice.

Argoth
We had a productive meeting last night. We did a commentary for our first video project. It's a short horror movie called "Argoth." A guy gets possessed by a demon trapped in a book and kills his roommates. Since it was our first video project we had no idea what we were doing (or any script) but we learned a lot from it. It was fun revisiting it again and noticing all of the mistakes. Hard to believe that it was done 19 years ago, man how time flies.
I did a re-edit a while back and now I'm working on a DVD that I'm hoping will be done by the end of the year.

Video Shoot
Finished shooting the footage for a new sketch. It's called "Lungactin" and is a commercial spoof for asthma medication. It was nice to get back into the swing of things again and shoot something new. This should appear on Just Watch It episode 5.

Update
So here's the latest after a long absence. The focus was still on writing feature length screenplays. I'm about to finish my fourth one in the last year.
I recently did an upgrade to a new imac and Canon camera. My current equipment is now 10 years old which is a lifetime in tech years.
An OEP meeting is planned soon.
I will be working on trying to finish up the 5th episode of Just Watch It. There are some sketches that still need to be edited and new ones shot to fill our 30 minute episode.
More to come!

One more festival
A friend told me about a new local festival, The Show and Tell Film Festival. It will be held on Sunday, February 28, 2010 from 6:30-9:30 at the Impulse Theater (downstairs in the Wynkoop Brewery). So we submitted Love Bytes to it and we'll see what happens!

Update
Just a quick note on what we've been up to. I've been working on a new feature length script the last 3 months. It's an action comedy with a mad dash for some buried loot. We'll be meeting soon to see what shorts we want to shoot this year. Summer will be here before we know it.
