I've had an idea for a story based off of my son in the jungle for a long time now. Since I had worked on so many other children's book ideas, I thought I might do a little work on this one. This wouldn't be a picture book, rather a collection of shorter stories.
I thought it best to read the classic "Winnie-the-Pooh," by A. A. Milne. It was a fun read and to see the similarities from the books and the classic Disney movie. It was also interesting to see what stories didn't make the cut, like when Rabbit, Pooh, and Piglet decide to kidnap Roo to get him and Kanga to move out of the Hundred Acre Wood.
It gave me some good ideas on story structure, some length ideas, and a way to go about writing my own stories.
